St Thomas's new vicarage approved

The Southborough Society, which likes to be on good terms with the town's churches wherever possible, was most disappointed with the Diocese's original planning application. The Society deemed the architecture totally out of keeping with the Victorian built environment where the development was proposed, and objected to the planning application.

Since then, the plans have been revised, although feelings have run high in the neighbourhood and a number of local residents have campaigned to stop the development. However, that did not deter the Council from giving its approval.
